What is the name of your podcast?

The Ectoplasm Show

How did you come up with the name for your show?

The name of the show was originally thought up by one of the original hosts, Myron. He wanted to talk spooky stories and came up with one of the only supernatural references he knew of; the infamous ectoplasm from the movie Ghostbusters.

What is your name and what is your role in the podcast? Who else is involved?

My name is Jason Kupzyk and I am one of the hosts of the podcast. I was born and raised in Kansas City. The other host is Josh Heard.

How would you describe your podcast? Who is your audience?

The Ectoplasm show is primarily a paranormal news/topic show dealing with all things strange. Our target audience is really anyone with an interest in the paranormal, conspiracy theories, and true crime.

When was the podcast launched?

What made you want to launch a paranormal podcast?

In all honesty, I never thought of doing a podcast. It was the original host Myron who pushed me along to do a show on all things odd. After we did the first couple of shows, I was hooked.

How often do you publish shows?

At least once a week, sometimes twice a week. This has changed a few times over the years, but now we’re publishing one news episode every week, and a topic episode every two weeks.

What do you discuss in your shows?

Anything paranormal, odd, weird, strange. Anything we find interesting, really.

How long are your shows?

An hour to an hour and a half. Some have been as long as 2 hours.

What equipment and software do you use to produce your show?

We have individual soundboard and mics in our homes and record via Skype using Adobe Audition to record it. We have an audio sponsor named The E.G.T. Project that has given us some mics to record with.

What do you love about podcasting?

Any time we can sit down and chat about odd happenings, I’m all about it. If we can entertain others in the process, that’s just icing on the cake.

Tell us about a particularly memorable moment in your show.

We’ve had some great moments interviewing some of the bigger names in the paranormal field. These are people who we and many others look up to in the paranormal community.

Where can someone find more information about your paranormal podcast?

Jason will be attending the upcoming KC Podcast Meetup, held Saturday February 17, after Planet Comicon closes up for the day. Here are some of the other podcasters who will be there.
