Meet Kansas City geek girls for brunch

Kansas City Geek Girl Brunch

Kansas City geek girls, have you heard about Geek Girl Brunch (GGB)? It’s this awesome organization that nurtures and encourages geek girl meetups. Over brunch. With drinks. What’s not to like? They started as a local meetup group in New York City, and had so much fun that they decided to roll out WORLDWIDE chapters.

The Kansas City Geek Girl Brunch chapter launched in July 2015, with a gathering of about 20 brunchettes. Founded by co-officers Amanda and yours truly (Angie), the group currently meets bi-monthly at different locations and with a different theme each time.

The inaugural brunch for Kansas City geek girls had a “Represent Your Favorite Fandom” theme, followed by a Renaissance Festival meetup and a geek-crafting session. Future meetup themes include gaming, space, Maker Faire, a Mad Hatter tea party, movie premieres, and literary inspiration.

You can learn more about the Kansas City Geek Girl Brunch chapter via our Twitter account (@GGBKansasCity), Facebook page/group, and chapter page on the GGB HQ website. To stay informed about future events, sign up for the mailing list (it’s free, and there’s no obligation to attend any events). Hope to see you there!
