Kansas City Gaming Podcast: The Tilted Gamer

Lately I’ve been trying to up my Twitter game, finding new geeky people to follow, so I can stay in-the-know in the geek community, and share more interesting things with you. It was on Twitter that I ran across a couple of Kansas City podcasters, Nick and Andrew, who put out The Tilted Gamer podcast. I listened to a bit of their show, and it was hilarious. Read on to hear about their “greatest episode of all time”…that never aired.

What is the name of your podcast?

The Tilted Gamer

What is your name and what is your role in the podcast?

Nick/NSA: Host and Andrew/PairedRabbit: Co-host

How would you describe your podcast? Who is your audience?

Like a conversation between two drunk gamers at a bar. Late-teens to adult gamers with a dark, arguably immature, sense of humor.

When was the podcast launched?

Start of 2016

What made you want to launch the podcast?

Well, it was supposed to be a small part of a larger gaming clan website but we sort of fell in love with it and kept it going even after the website fell through.

How often do you publish shows?

Every week! Usually around Tuesdays.

What do you discuss in your shows?

Latest news in gaming, updates, reviews, our complaints, and the sociology of gamers in what we call Brociology.

How long are your shows?

40-80 minutes. Depends on the news.

What do you love about podcasting/your show?

The freedom. We say what we feel and do what we want on the show. Whether good or bad, it’s ours. I like to think we represent the “everyman” gamer. Not MLG 420NoScope pros, but guys that just like to get intoxicated and play games.

Tell us about a particularly memorable moment in your show.

We had the greatest episode of all time once. Guests, fun games (like Real or B.S.), tons of news, and amazing banter. But as those things go, it was all lost to technical difficulties and maybe some slight human error. It’s still the standard we hold every show to now, but no one’s ever heard it.

What podcasts do you enjoy listening to?

IGN Podcast Beyond, Rebel FM, Various D&D podcasts, Duncan Trussell Family Hour, Joe Rogan Experience, History on Fire.

What future plans lay ahead for your show?

Oh yeah! We’ll be at KCGameon June 11th doing a show, trying to get a spot a KantCon, starting a D&D campaign, and a lot more streams and podcast.
