Ever wish you could revisit the nostalgic days of childhood – filled with Legos, classic movies, mix tapes and treasured comics? Ever wish you didn’t have to grow up? (Why do I bother asking – most geeks I know do not fit the term “grown-up”…) Jeremy of Kansas City-based The Neverland Podcast fits this bill, too. Read on to find out how you, too, can fly from Kansas City to Neverland each week and gather your own pixie dust along the way.
What is the name of your podcast?
The Neverland Podcast
What is your name and what is your role in the podcast?
Jeremy, called the Spider-Pan. I’m the Pan…the host and creator.
How would you describe your podcast? Who is your audience?
Neverland is the place where imagination and fun is key – it’s where you never have to grow up! The land of dreams has a podcast!
I’m mainly aimed at 30-something adults who enjoy a look back at old toys and movies, love comic books, Star Wars…and of course Disney!
When was the podcast launched?
What made you want to launch the podcast?
I’ve had a desire to create a show like this since I was a kid. I used to record myself on cassette tapes making shows to entertain myself. Now I’m doing it on a worldwide scale!
How often do you publish shows?
Once a week, with a bonus if something really big happens in the middle of the week.
What do you discuss in your shows?
Geek culture, Disney culture, toys, games, movies
How long are your shows?
I aim at one hour, but I do run over sometimes.
What do you love about your show?
I love making a happy place on the internet and sharing fun experiences and conversations with my Lost Boys and Pixies. We are a community! I give you a chance every week to fly to Neverland and gather some pixie dust (young-at-heart and positive attitudes) that I invite you to share with others.
Tell us about a particularly memorable moment in your show.
I have to pick just one? Talking to Townsend Coleman, Katie Leigh, and people that have actually met and worked with Walt Disney! Margaret Kerry was such a treat to meet as well!
What podcasts do you enjoy listening to?
What future plans lay ahead for your show?
I’m playing my cards close to my chest for something fun I have planned.
Where can someone find more information about your podcast?
What’s something you love about Kansas City?
Walt Disney’s first job was here. He built his first business here as well!
Anything else you’d like to share?
Pixie Dust. I share it often.
